Join us for a Ramadan friendly outing as we explore the house and grounds of Cedar Hill, Frederick Douglass’ estate in Anacostia. While many know Frederick Douglass as a scholar, abolitionist, and one of the most formative figures in American History; he was also an admirer of nature. Douglass named his estate Cedar Hill after his favorite tree, the Eastern Red Cedar. After the ranger-led house tour, we’ll explore the remaining grounds and the specimen trees, some of which Douglass planted himself.
Note: This outing is limited to 10 people and includes a reservation for the house tour at 9:00am. If you have RSVP’d and can no longer attend, please update your RSVP so that others may join. Thanks!
